Duel other players for the pot they are sitting on. Win and it climbs — by less every time. Then take it, or hold the hill and find out whether the next challenger is worse than you.

Katana

(01) — How it works3 steps

Three steps, then a decision.

  1. Stake in

Pick an arena and pay its fixed stake. If the hill is empty you take it uncontested at 1.00×. If someone is holding it, you fight them for it.

  2. Duel

Best of three. Both players commit a hidden move, then reveal. Strike beats feint, parry beats strike, feint beats parry. No dice, no oracle — the contract resolves what you both actually played.

  3. Cash out or push

Win and the loser’s stake feeds your pot. You get sixty seconds alone with it: take the money, or hold the hill and find out whether the next challenger is worse than you.

(02) — The clashBest of 3

Three moves. No dominant one.

Pick a move to see how it resolves. Ties are re-fought and don’t count toward the three.

Strike beats feint, loses to parry, and ties itself.

(03) — The curve0.9^n

Every win pays less than the last.

Each defence credits 10% less than the one before it. A tenth straight win adds under 39% of a stake. That is why the pot converges instead of running away — and why holding gets harder to justify the longer you do it.

Pot and multiplier by streak length, for the Katana arena at a 0.025 ETH stake.

(06) — QuestionsBefore you connect

The things worth asking first.

  • Another player. There is no house on the other side of your bet. One player holds a hill along with whatever pot has built up on it, and you pay that arena's stake to fight them for it, best of three. Win and the pot is yours to keep or defend. Lose and your stake goes into the pot you just tried to take.
